The Umbrella Theme: “Toward the End Time”
The Scripture for Feb. 23 is from the beginning of the Book of Revelation in the New Testament. Here is some background information that may help you prepare prior to our time together. .
Session VI
– Scripture: Revelation 1:5b-8, 9-11; 22:12 (NRSV)
– Theme: “Jesus’ Coming and His Reward According to One’s Way”
“7 Look! He is coming with the clouds; every eye will see him, even those who pierced him; and on his account all the tribes of the earth will wail. So it is to be. Amen. 8“I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty. “9I, John, your brother who share with you in Jesus the persecution and the kingdom and the patient endurance, was on the island called Patmos because of the word of God and the testimony of Jesus.10I was in the spirit on the Lord’s day, and I heard behind me a loud voice like a trumpet 11 saying, “Write in a book what you see and send it to the seven churches, to Ephesus, to Smyrna, to Pergamum, to Thyatira, to Sardis, to Philadelphia, and to Laodicea.”; “See, I am coming soon; my reward is with me, to repay according to everyone’s work. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first, and the last, the beginning and the end”; “See, I am coming soon; my reward is with me, to repay according to everyone’s work. (Revelation 1:5b-8, 9-11; 22:12, NRSV).
“1 At that time Michael, the great prince, the protector of your people, shall arise. There shall be a time of anguish, such as has never occurred since nations first came into existence. But at that time your people shall be delivered, everyone who is found written in the book. 2 Many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.”
(Daniel 12:1-2, NRSV).
Have you ever asked yourself about where you will be standing or found upon Jesus’ second coming if you are still alive or after your physical death? In your mind, you may have already an answer to the question for yourself, a good one in your mind. However, the Bible testifies that we are not the judge for our own destiny; it is Jesus whose words will serve as the judge. His comings to the world are not just to give life but also to start and complete his judgment.
To be continued in our online devotional reflection and discussion.

What does the scripture mean?
What does the scripture mean to you personally?
During Session V, we are going to reflect on the significance of bearing the name of God and on what will happen to people depending on their relationship with God. We also look into how the message of Daniel relates to what we find in the New Testament.
You are invited to share your experiences and responses.
How do you bear the name of Jesus?
How does your reality stand in your relationship with him?
How would you direct your life to promote his name and to win a glorious victory?
Look forward to meeting you all on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. Bring your questions from the previous sessions if you can. God is good!
